B.A. in Fine Arts

You want visual and thinking skills to lead in today’s economy.

Let’s face it—it’s a visual world. We’re surrounded by more and more images every day. If you have creative talent and cognitive flexibility, then you’re poised for success. The Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts can help you get the credentials and training you need to lead the way. We’ve partnered with Adelphi’s Department of Art and Art History to offer this degree program. Our students come from a wide variety of academic and professional backgrounds, and many are professionals in graphic design, marketing, or publishing. In some cases, students have completed course work at another school and are seeking to finish their undergraduate degree at Adelphi.

This program is perfect for you if you’re interested in a career in commercial art, art education, advertising production and design, illustration, graphic arts, or web design. This studio art degree can also lead to the Master of Arts in Studio Art.

The distribution requirement for the B.A. in Fine Arts will be fulfilled as follows: four foundation courses, including one art history course and a minimum of 16 credits in advanced art courses. Candidates for this studio art degree must have completed at least 120 credits, 60 of which must be in the liberal arts. The final 30 credits must be taken in graded course work at the University, and no more than 60 of the total credits may be awarded from life experience credits.
