A.A. in Liberal Arts

The Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts can meet your career needs now and can easily be incorporated later into a bachelor’s degree program. Some students can achieve this degree in as little as two semesters. If you’re planning for a bachelor’s degree at some point in the future but want to achieve an academic degree first, this program might be the best fit for you. It can lead to all University College bachelor’s degree programs, including literature, social sciences, fine arts, business, and criminal justice.

Students pursuing the A.A. in Liberal Arts will first complete 16 credits of core course requirements. Core classes serve as introductions to specific areas in the liberal arts. Once the core classes are completed, students complete at least 18 credits of general education requirements. The remaining 24 to 30 credits can be completed with elective courses.

Students can apply for a maximum of 34 life experience credits to apply to this degree program. A student taking the full 34 credits can potentially complete the associate’s degree in liberal arts in as little as two semesters.
