Guest Scholar Program

Learn more about the University College program for guest scholars.

Guest Scholars can audit courses for personal enrichment at Adelphi’s Garden City campus. The majority of the courses in the University are open to Guest Scholars, including but not limited to literature, social sciences, history and foreign language.

Because there is no credit attached to the courses taken by a Guest Scholar there is no academic responsibility. Students who were previously or are currently enrolled as matriculated students at Adelphi University, but who have not graduated, are not eligible to enroll in this program.

Courses for Guest Scholars are only available in the fall and spring semesters.

Course Fees

Fees range from $50-$150 per course. You can register by completing the registration form and submitting it to University College. In-person registration is also available by appointment.

  • Adelphi Alumni: $50 per course
  • Senior Citizens: $75 per course
  • General Registration: $150 per course
Payment can be made by checks only. Checks must be made payable to Adelphi University.

Guest Scholars may receive a refund if the course(s) is dropped within the first two weeks of the semester. To drop a course, call 516.877.3400 to begin the refund process. Any drops after the first two weeks of class will not be refunded.
