If you’re considering a career in accounting or are looking to move up, the Advanced Certificate in Accounting is meant for you. This 42-credit certificate program consists of undergraduate courses in accounting and business law. It also helps you meet the academic eligibility requirements to sit for the Uniform CPA examination in New York State.* The purpose of the program is to prepare students for staff accounting positions in both business and nonprofit entities. Course work in this certificate program will help in meeting the prerequisites for the MBA program with accounting specialization at Adelphi.
Our program is designed for part-time adult students taking courses in the evening. Due to the sequential nature of the accounting courses, students can complete the certificate in six semesters or three years.
Our advanced certificate program appeals to students who have a bachelor’s degree in business and want to become eligible to sit for the CPA exam in New York without completing a full MBA program. It’s also good for students with a completed bachelor’s degree in any discipline other than accounting. You can be admitted at any time during the academic year, and you must meet the following requirements:
