Mission
The mission of the University College Alumni and External Community Advisory Board is to provide critical and supportive advice to assist University College in maintaining and enhancing its position as a leader in adult higher education in Long Island. The board will help foster a sense of community among the college’s alumni; help promote University College through academic, professional, and social events; and help ensure excellence in the college’s educational programs and objectives. The board will also promote the achievements of distinguished University College students, alumni, faculty, and staff, and help with fundraising efforts for University College student scholarships.
Purpose and Responsibilities
University College is committed to engagement with its alumni and local community to help ensure University College is the premier adult degree program in Long Island. The University College Alumni and External Community Advisory Board will help ensure that courses and programs are relevant, that they create and enhance community connections, and that they will assist recent graduates with education and career goals. Advisory Board members will work with the University College Executive Director to help Adelphi University achieve its vision for University College.
Advisory Board members are appointed for two years, and meet three times each year in October, January, and May.
